The Line was created for the Blaue Nacht 2015 at the New Museum in Nuremberg, the briefing was to animate visitors extending their stay in the museum during the event and exploring the cultural institution in an unique and engaging way.
Studio Verena Hennig created a 25-meter long installation functions as a large playground and spatial organizer. The abstract version of a very long bench, made of 80 white air mattresses, providing the guests of the museum a comfortable place to play, relax, recharge and interact.
By sitting down the user lifts up his/her neighbor, which creates an immediate open atmosphere between two strangers.
The design is further driven by Hennigs love of material, performance and minimalism, and desire to form a connection with her customers to spark an immediate reaction to their playful nature.
